FIRE INSPECTIONS
The Fire Marshal is responsible for annual fire safety inspections of all buildings except single family dwellings. He inspects fire alarms and fire suppression systems and checks for other fire hazards in order to prevent fires and to reduce false alarms. We are here to answer any concerns the residents may have regarding fire hazards and fire alarms. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all residents that their smoke detectors should be replaced if they are ten years old.
NEW - Fire Marshal Application and Fee: The majority of Towns in Monroe County have Fire Marshal's on their staff and therefore have a permit process for permitting. In 2023, the Town of Ogden began incorporating a permit process and associated fee schedule to offset administrative costs. Fire safety inspections are required by NYS Law. The process will increase our efficiency and place the Town of Ogden in line with neighboring communities.
Please refer to the following Multi-Family Safety Inspection Checklist for existing units in the Town of Ogden or Village of Spencerport.
