On Thursday, June 19th, the Town of Ogden held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Splash Pad, located at Pineway Ponds Park. The new Splash Pad covers 4,300 square feet and features 22 spray elements, highlighted by a large, crowd-pleasing dumping bucket. This project was funded through a combination of town savings, ARPA funds, a New York State grant and a generous donation of labor.

Leading up to the event, the Town hosted a Splash Pad Grand Opening Drawing Contest for Ogden children ages 2–16. The contest winner, 7-year-old Levi Plummer, had the honor of pressing the button to activate the Splash Pad for the very first time.

“We are thrilled to welcome the community back to the newly upgraded Pineway Ponds Splash Pad,” said Ogden Parks and Recreation Director Andrea Hansen. “This project reflects our shared vision of creating a fun and inclusive space where families of all ages and abilities can come together to cool off, play, and make lasting memories.”

“This project has been years in the making,” said Ogden Town Supervisor Mike Zale. “Our previous Splash Pad was an incredibly popular attraction, and we knew that any new installation would need to be even better. Today’s ribbon cutting is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. I’m proud to say our efforts have paid off.”

“I want to thank Parks and Recreation Director Andrea Hansen for leading this extensive project, along with all of our partners who helped bring it to completion, including our Town Highway, Building, and Maintenance Departments, Assemblyman Josh Jensen, MRB Engineering, Denzak Recreation, Vortex, Titan Development, and Loyal Nine Development. What we’ve created here is truly special and something we can all be proud of,” concluded Zale.

The Splash Pad will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. through Labor Day. For a complete list of Splash Pad rules, please visit the Town of Ogden Parks and Recreation website and click on Facilities, then Pineway Ponds Park – Splash Pad.
